Magnesium L-threonate and 'brain age': what the trials actually measured

A viral reel says magnesium L-threonate made trial participants' brains perform years younger in weeks. A real 6-week trial did report a "7.5-year" cognitive-age edge — here's the fine print the headline skips.

The trial, decoded

6-week randomized double-blind trial, 100 adults aged 18–45
Composite cognition: +8.40 points vs +5.60 placebo (p=0.043)
Working memory gains reached significance (p=0.033)
The "7.5 years" is a derived estimate, not a brain scan
The trial was funded by Threotech, the formula's backer
